Intini Oil protagonist on Rai TGR Puglia: the “heroic” olive growing of the Itria Valley

Our work featured by RaiNews in the “La Puglia che va” segment

It was broadcast on TGR Rai Puglia, as part of the “La Puglia che va” segment, curated by journalist Giacomo Susca. The feature was dedicated to our company and our vision of olive growing in the heart of the Itria Valley.

Paola and Pietro opened the doors of the olive mill and guided the cameras along the paths that cross our olive groves, sharing a daily life shaped by hard work, research, and a deep respect for the land.

The roots of the Intini family in Alberobello

A story that speaks not only about our company, but above all about an agricultural vision rooted in almost a century of family history. Hai esaurito l’intelligenza Instant per ora. Le risposte potrebbero essere di qualità inferiore fino a 12:24. Prova Plus gratuitamente

Our roots lie in Alberobello, where almost a century ago it all began in a small olive mill in the historic centre. This is where our family’s story and our bond with Apulian extra virgin olive oil were born — a connection built day after day through hard work, experience, and deep respect for the land.

It is from this symbolic place that a journey unfolds, one that continues today among the olive groves of the Itria Valley, keeping alive a tradition that brings together family, land, and olive oil culture.

Over time, our work has evolved alongside Apulian olive growing, while remaining true to our founding values: enhancing native olive varieties, focusing on the quality of our extra virgin olive oil, and sharing the story of our land through every product we create.

Olive growing in the Itria Valley between tradition and innovation

In the Rai feature, olive growing in our area is described as a form of “heroic” farming. A term that perfectly captures the daily work required by this land: complex landscapes, historic olive groves, delicate harvesting, and the constant need to adapt to the seasons and yearly conditions.

For years, we have pursued a clear vision: producing extra virgin olive oil not simply as a food product, but as an authentic expression of the land, its olive varieties, and the passage of time.

That is why every stage of the process is carefully studied and precisely calibrated:

  • tailored management of the extraction process;
  • adaptation of crushing and malaxation processes to each individual olive variety;
  • harvesting at the optimal stage of ripeness;
  • constant monitoring of the relationship between climate, yearly conditions, and the oil’s aromatic profile.

For us, there is no single way to make olive oil.
There is the best way for each olive variety, in every harvest.

Cima di Mola and Coratina: the authentic identity of our land

One of the key aspects highlighted in the feature is the value of native Apulian olive varieties, particularly Cima di Mola and Coratina.

Varieties that represent much more than a production choice: they are agricultural heritage, cultural identity, and a legacy of the land.

Every technical decision begins by listening to these olives and understanding their natural characteristics. This is where our daily work in the olive mill takes shape.

An olive mill welcoming travellers from all over the world

The Rai feature also highlights another important aspect of our reality: the connection with people from different countries and cultures.

Every year, we welcome travellers from all over the world to our olive mill to share the knowledge behind extra virgin olive oil, telling the story of a living culture made of gestures, aromas, and traditions passed down through generations.

For us, olive oil is not just agricultural production.
It is hospitality, storytelling, and a connection with the land.

A journey recognised internationally as well

In recent years, our work has received important international recognition. Among these is the award received just a few days ago at the Japan Olive Oil Prize 2026 in Tokyo, where our Bio extra virgin olive oil was recognised as the best olive oil in the world among around 700 samples from different countries.

A particularly significant achievement in a market like Japan, which is increasingly attentive to the quality of extra virgin olive oil, its health benefits, and the excellence of organic productions.

But beyond the awards, what matters most to us is the continuity of this journey: year after year, creating an oil that remains true to our vision, capable of authentically representing our land and its agricultural identity.

An Apulia that creates value

“La Puglia che va” tells the story of a region that is not only shaped by tourism, but also by agricultural businesses capable of innovating while preserving their authenticity.

Within this movement, we feel we have a clear role: to preserve the olive-growing heritage of our territory while also engaging with the world through the quality, research, and culture of extra virgin olive oil.

A story that belongs to the land

Being featured by a national broadcaster such as RaiNews represents an important recognition fo

Because behind every bottle there are daily choices, research, work in the fields, and respect for a family story that has continued for almost a century.

And this is exactly what the TGR Puglia feature was able to tell: not just a company, but a way of experiencing olive oil and the land.
